Dongargarh to emerge as important tourist destination: Baghel

Raipur, Mar 02: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghelsaid that on completion of Maa Bamleshwari Devi Mandir Dongargarh project at the cost of Rs 43.33 cr then Dongargarh would emerge as important religious destination on tourist map of the country. This at one place where would open doors for tourism development, on the other would provide employment to local youths as well.
CM Bhupesh Baghel was speaking at the foundation laying ceremony of Maa Bamleshwari Devi Mandir, Dongargarh from Vidhan Sabha office premises online. The programme was chaired by Union Minister of State for Tourism Prahlad Patel and he also took part in the programme in virtual mode. At the site STate Tourism Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu laid the stone and Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat was also present with CM in Raipur.
Union Minister of State(IC) for Tourism & Culture ShriPrahlad Singh Patel virtually laid  the foundation stone for the project “Development of Maa Bamleshwari Devi Temple, Dongargarh, Chhattisgarh” approved under PRASHAD Scheme of the Ministry of Tourismin New Delhi today.
Speaking on the occasion Patel said that the project “Development of Maa Bamleshwari Devi Temple, Dongargarh” has been approved by the Ministry of Tourism with an estimated cost of Rs. 43.33 cr in Oct. 2020. The project includes works for development of pilgrimage infrastructure at ‘Pilgrimage Activity Center’ with a Shri Yantra shaped iconic building, development of steps, sheds, walkway, area illumination, lakefront, parking with other public amenities for the Maa Bamleshwari Devi Temple and the pilgrimage amenities at Pragyagiri, he added. Union Minister Patel hoped that the project once executed successfully, will certainly improve experience of pilgrims coming to the destinations.
Tourism Minister Tamradhwaj Sahu said that under leadership of CM Bhupesh Baghel the development works in tourist sites in Chhattisgarh is taking place speedily. In Dongargarh, tourist development will be done on 9.50 acre land. He expressed gratitude towards Union Tourism Minister for inclusion of Dongargarh under Centre’s PRASAD scheme. He informed that a tourism policy has been formulated for promotion of tourism in Chhattisgarh. CM during his tour to Districts stays in motels and resorts, so that he knows the facilities being offered to tourists. MP Santosh Pandey said that under ‘PRASAD’ yojana, infrastructure development is being carried out in religious tourist sites. Dongargarh is famous for Maa Bamleshwari temple along with Chandragiri and Pragyagiri pilgrimage. With ‘PRASAD’ yojana there will be scope for new development of region. Secretary Tourism Deptt Anbalgan P gave the welcome speech and MD CTB Ranu Sahu proposed vote of thanks.
