Div. Commissioner inspects Mela, find arrangements satisfactory

Navapara-Rajim, Mar 10: To conduct inspection of arrangements made at Rajim Maghi Punni Mela, the Divisional Commissioner Raipur div AK Toppo visited Rajim on Wednesay. He took stock of arrangement made at ‘Manahadi Aarti Ghat’, Revenue department stall; main dais and other facilities. On this occasion Toppo directed the staff to ensure proper cleaning in Mela and safety and security of devotees visiting the Mela. During this he also visited drinking water facility, toilet and resting place in the Mela and expressed satisfaction over the same. He visited the PR media centre and took information about PR material and promotional items.
During discussions he informed that Rajim Mela is being organized from Feb 27 to March 11 and this year it was inaugurated at the hands of Speaker VS Dr Charandas Mahant and by the Governor Ms Anusuiya Uikey. In the concluding function tomorrow, CM Bhupesh Baghel will be the chief guest. All necessary arrangements are being made for the conclusion of Rajim Maghi Punni mela and the local administration has made an appeal to all the visitors to Mela to take all necessary precautions and safety to avoid spreading of corona virus and along with this Health department made massive promotion in this regard.
Toppo informed that for resting place for devotees, this time arrangement for three domes have been constructed and other basic amenities like drinking water, bio-toilets, electricity, safety has been made in entire Mela premises and he hailed the same. To give information about government’s schemes, a total of 14 stalls of government departments have been constructed and all arrangements were monitored on regular basis by officers posted in the Mela.
He informed that the Collector has been asked to submit the report and it is the local Pandits and Samiti who are performing ‘Aarti’ daily and the cultural programmes being oragnised daily by local artists are also being liked by one & all.
CollectorJR Chourasiya present on the occasion informed that so far around 200 Sadhus-Sants have visited this Mela and the arrangements for food to the Sadhus, Sants, Naga –Sadhus, Kabir Pant followers and others is being done in the dome on behalf of the state government. A media centre has been established in the Mela for promotion of government’s schemes and policies, he added.
During this inspection SDM JG Vahile, PR Deptt Dy. Directo MS Sori, Tehsildar OP Verma, Rajim Thana in-Charge Vikas Baghel, Asst. PR Officer Poshan Sahu and others were present.
