Cycle rally held with aim to make Ch’garh malnutrition-free

Raipur, Sep 13: Under the leadership of Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Anila Bhediya, a huge cycle rally was held from Marine Drive in Telibandha, Raipur with the resolve of ‘Gadbo Nava Supashit Chhattisgarh’. Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Commission for Women Dr. Kiranmayi Nayak, Speaker of Raipur Municipal Corporation, Mr. Pramod Dubey, Secretary of Women and Child Development Department Mrs. Reena Baba Saheb Kangale, Director Mrs. Divya Umesh Mishra, State Head of UNICEF along with Mr. Job Zakaria.
Representatives of various voluntary organizations including National Service Scheme, Chhattisgarh Cycle Club, departmental officers, employees and a large number of youth participated. On the occasion of Nutrition Month, a cycle rally was organized by the Department of Women and Child Development and allies with the aim of making Chhattisgarh free from malnutrition and anemia, to bring awareness and behavior change in the people about malnutrition.
Mrs. Bhediya said that Nutrition Month is being organised in Chhattisgarh including the entire country to spread awareness about malnutrition among the people. This rally organized for the awareness of the people is small but its resolution is very big. In Chhattisgarh, the Chief Minister Suposhan Abhiyan started on the initiative of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to remove malnutrition from children and anemia from women is an example in the whole country. It is a matter of great happiness and pride that due to this campaign, a large number of children in Chhattisgarh are becoming free from malnutrition every year. She said that eradication of malnutrition is the collective responsibility of all of us. Let all take a pledge that every person, family, institution and society will be connected with this campaign of malnutrition. The voice of malnutrition should reach the people, so that malnutrition can be removed from the country’s children suffering from malnutrition and anemia and from women.
In this, the cooperation and participation of all the people along with the government and the department is necessary, so that Chhattisgarh moves forward on the path of nutrition and development. On this occasion, RMC Speaker, Pramod Dubey while giving the message of cleanliness and nutrition said that everyone should be aware to make their city clean and safe. In the program, the girls of Balika Griha started the rally by showing green flag. With the release of tricolor balloons, the rally started from Telibandha Marine Drive and reached back to Marine Drive via Shastri Chowk, Mekahara, Bharat Mata Chowk. In the nutrition awareness rally, all the cycle riders groups of Raipur city, police administration, school and college students, NSS, Sports and Youth Welfare Department, representatives of various sports associations, NRDA, International organizations such as UNICEF, Worldvision, Evidence Action, Common Service Center, Nutrition International, Decathlon including business organizations gave their support to make the event successfull.
