CM dedicates multi-level parking to public

Raipur, Aug 20: Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday dedicated multi-level parking near the Collectorate on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Rajiv Gandhi. Raipur Smart City Limited has designed the second multilevel parking of the city, with parking for 450 four wheelers and 200 two wheelers in an effort to streamline the traffic in Raipur city.
The multi-level parking has been constructed at a cost of Rs 28 crore in an area of ??17792 square meters in spring-like shape with proper use of minimum area for parking of maximum number of vehicles. This multi-storey complex will prove to be the best example of modern city planning.
Situated between Raipur’s historic heritage collectorate complex, town hall and newly constructed Oxyzone Garden and Smart Road, this newly constructed complex will give a new identity to the city with its usefulness.
Financial model of operation of this complex has also been prepared, under which the urban body will get revenue income of about Rs 83.55 lakh in the next 5 years.
With the start of this multi-storey parking complex, the traffic can be well organized because of the availability of parking facilities for the citizens arriving by their vehicles in collectorate, office of the Superintendent of Police and other government offices. Earlier the first multi-level parking constructed at Jai Stambh Chowk was also completed in February-2019 on the initiative of the Chief Minister Baghel.
A restaurant will also be run on the upper floor of this newly constructed six storeyed building near Collectorate. Grandeur of the city will be visible from the top of this parking complex. The dome of Oxyzone , Nagar Ghadi Chowk, Municipal Corporation Headquarters, Byron Bazaar, St Paul’s Church, Raja Talab Mosque will also be visible from the top of this complex. This project was completed by Raipur Smart City Limited in a period of 26 months despite the odd circumstances of the COVID pandemic. This complex will be known as light house for traffic management with its modern construction skills.
Present on the occasion were Agriculture Minister and Raipur district in-charge Minister Ravindra Choubey, Urban Administration Minister Dr Shivkumar Dahria, Forest Minister Mohammad Akbar, Industries Minister Kawasi Lakhma, Women and Child Development Minister Anila Bhendia, Rajya Sabha MP Chhaya Verma, Raipur Mayor Aijaz Dhebar, Parliamentary Secretary Vikas Upadhyay, Chhattisgarh Housing Board Chairman Kuldeep Juneja, Municipal Corporation Speaker Pramod Dubey, other public representatives, Collector Sourabh Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police Ajay Yadav and Municipal Commissioner Prabhat Malik.
