Ch’garh State shooting Ch’ship from Feb 26

Raipur, Feb 24: The state level 19th Shooting Championship will be held from February 26 under the joint aegis of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Rifle Association and the Naveen Jindal led Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL). The event will be organized at the shooting range of Chhattisgarh Armed Forces 4th Battalion at Mana, Raipur in which shooters will be selected for the East Zone Shooting Championship. In view of the Covid-19 epidemic, full vigil will be taken for the safety of the participants and the audience.
In a press release issued here, Rakesh Gupta, the General Secretary of the Association said that elaborate arrangements have been made in the Championship. 50m, 10m and 25m rifle pistol competitions for women, men and different age groups will be held from 26 February to 6 March. The contestants, who score the desired points as per the norms set by the National Rifle Association of India, will be selected for the East Zone Shooting Championship to be held in West Bengal from March 11-14. The shooters who qualify the East Zone Shooting Championship will be selected for the National Shooting Championship, which will be held in April. The state championship is being organized since the year 2002 and many talents of Chhattisgarh have got an opportunity at national level.
Mr. Gupta said that using 22 bore rifles, air rifles and air pistols, the shooters will make the championship interesting. In view of the Covid-19 epidemic, strong arrangements have been made. A glass screen is placed between each shooter. Total eight such screens have been installed. Apart from this, arrangements have been made for sanitizer and to maintain social distancing.
