Ch’garh police tops in prosecution of rape accused

Raipur, Feb 19: Adhering strictly to the directives of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for taking prompt and strict action against culprits of crime against women, particularly the rape accused, Chhattisgarh police have gone into a war footage mode to nab the culprits and have got them convicted within a month.
In fact, state police have succeeded in submitting challan in the court against several rape accused within two days and in one such case registered in Telibandha police station have even got convicted to life imprisonment within a month.
Other noteworthy examples of Chhattisgarh police with regards to investigating crime against women, Khamtarai police submitted challan against a rape accused within 48 hours following which he was sentenced to life imprisonment in next 45 days. Similarly, Mandir Hasaud produced challan against a rape accused within two days and the accused was sentenced to life imprisonment within 35 days. In another rape against a minor registered in Jagdalpur’s Bodhghat police station, police submitted challan against the accused within a week and the accused was sentenced to life imprisonment in next 45 days.
Showering high accolades to these investigators, DGP DM Awasthi on Friday felicitated sixteen police personnel for their utmost sincerity to work.
