Raipur, Jul 19: Ahead of the Monsoon session of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly scheduled to begin from July 26, almost all the Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) have taken vaccine against Covid 19 after the Assembly Speaker Dr Charandas Mahant had made it mandatory for the MLAs for participating in the proceedings.
According to the information received, 89 out of the 90 MLAs of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly have taken vaccine to keep themselves at guard against the corona virus. While 64 MLAs including 10 members of Bhupesh Baghel cabinet have received both the doses of vaccine, the others have also taken vaccine after the directive issued by Assembly Speaker for the Monsoon session of Assembly.
Officials informed that Congress MLA Brihaspati Singh is the only member left to take vaccine as he could not take it after falling victim to the lethal virus. After getting the mandatory period, he would be taking the vaccine soon.
It is notable that Minister Md Akbar, Jaisingh Agrawal and Guru Rudra Kumar have taken vaccine just few days back after Speaker Mahant had made it mandatory for the MLAs to participating in the proceedings during the Monsoon Session of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly.
Deputy Speaker of Assembly Manoj Singh Mandavi on Monday too urged the media persons also to take up vaccination if they have failed to do so far, if they would be visiting the Assembly premises to cover the proceedings scheduled to begin from next Monday.
