Sourabh Kumar assumes office as District Collector

Raipur, Jun 07: The 2009 batch Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer Sourabh Kumar on Monday assumed office as new District Collector of Raipur. He assumed office from the outgoing Collector Dr S Bharatidashan who has been given key responsibility as Special Secretary at CM Secretariat with additional charge of Commissioner cum Director Public Relations.
Prior to the new assignment, Sourabh Kumar had been working as Municipal Commissioner of Raipur Corporation.
After assuming office as new District Collector, Sourabh Kumar held initial discussion with the senior officials of District Administration. He asked the officials to accord priority to the Public Welfare Schemes of Chhattisgarh Government. He also urged the officials to work with the team spirit and co-ordintion. Officials and employees organised a farewell programme for the outgoing District Collector Dr S Bharatidashan on Monday afternoon. He appreciated the team effort of the officials and employees and added that Capital City has established itself as an example for the other region to face the challenges during the last one year to deal with the pandemic.
