11 gram panchayats report not a single case of COVID-19

Konta, Aug 01: In the tribal-dominated Sukma district of Chhattisgarh, the infection of corona epidemic has been fluctuating.  In the urban and rural areas of the district, more cases were reported in the stipulated time period, which got reduced due to the successful efforts of the administration and the general public.
The district administration Sukma has always worked with caution and promptness regarding the corona infection.  Corona check-up was done continuously in the areas, immediate medical arrangements were ensured to positive patients, tracing of persons who came in contact with patients etc. All the work is being done with utmost accuracy and covid vaccination is also going on at a fast pace.  As a result of this readiness of the administration and the general public, not a single person was found corona infected in 11 gram panchayats of the district.
Prevented corona infection by creating a self-containment zone
According to the information received from District Panchayat Sukma, total 29 villages of 11 gram panchayats of the district namely Poredam, Gonderas, Golabekur, Jaimer, Kavrakopa, Gondpalli, Chimlipanta, Nagaram, Maraiguda (R), Regadgatta and Karigundam, including 2 villages Jaimer and Kavrakopa from Chhindgarh block.  , 21 villages of Konta block and 6 villages of Sukma block remained out of reach of corona virus during the second wave of corona.  The villagers here kept themselves safe with awareness and protective measures.  In order to keep themselves safe, for better management in rural areas, the representatives and villagers kept themselves safe from infection by following awareness and covid rules.
The main reason for not spreading the infection to the village was the awareness and alertness of the villagers, who stopped coming out of the village to save themselves as well as others from infection.  They went out only when absolutely necessary.  As soon as there was a lockdown in the district, the road entering the village was blocked with the help of trees, stones, etc., barred the entry of outsiders and declared the Gram Panchayat as a self-containment zone.  During this, the people of the villages remained confined to their homes.  Apart from this, marriage marriages and no other mass programs were also organized.  In this work, the children of the village, old men all played their part.

During this, people were also motivated not to come out of the houses without masks, to follow physical distance and to get immunized.
The villagers were explained the importance of maintaining social distance and wearing masks.  On getting information about a person coming from outside in the village, he used to inform the village administration in this regard.
People coming from other states were compulsorily kept in the nearest quarantine center for 10 days where they were regularly tested for corona.
They were given entry to the village only after completing the prescribed day, as a result of which the corona infection did not spread to the villages.  It is the result of all the measures to prevent infection in these gram panchayats that till now not a single person suffering from corona infection has been found, for which the village representatives and villagers deserve congratulations.
