BJP takes to streets over unfulfilled promises
Raipur, Jun 15: Bharatiya Janata Party has launched campaign in its 16 Mandal units in the district to make people aware of unfulfilled promises of Congress government during it during two and a half years of its rule so far in the state.
Discussing the issue near Pandri Market and Madhu Pillai School Mandi Gate of Raipur North Assembly Constituency, the BJP District President Srichand Sundrani said that Bhupesh government had been adopting policy of working less and going for maximum publicity.
The state government had promised to halve the property tax for the people in urban areas, but Raipur Municipal Corporation being ruled by Congress will go to every house and look into every room and to find out the sources of enhancing its income, he said. The Corporation could neither provide water to the people during summer, nor could it make arrangement for drainage of water during rainy season. On the contrary liquor is being delivered to homes. BJP District President Srichand Sundrani interacted with the people at Avantibai ward, Mahatma Gandhi Ward, Guru Gobind Singh ward and Guru Ghasidas ward.
BJP spokesman Sanjay Shrivastav, Onkar Bais, RMC Zone president Pramod Sahu, Rajiv Agrawal, Chhagan Mundra, Anup Khelkar, Kishor Mahanand, Salik Singh Thakur, Rajiv Mishra, Akbar Ali, Hansraj Vishvakarma, Makhmur Khan, Manoj Verma and Tilak Bhai Patel were present during the drive on Monday.
BJP Raipur Media In-charge Anurag Agrawal said that drive against state government’s unfulfilled promises would continue till June 17. A meeting of BJP District Pichhda Verg Morcha was held in Ekatma Parisar to further extend this drive. Pichhda Verg Morcha District President Sunil Choudhary said that Morcha was running drive at 32 places in all 16 Mandals to make people aware of the failure of Congress government to fulfill its promises.
