BJP Mahila Morcha to launch protest from Feb 20

Raipur, Feb 18: BJP Mahila Morcha (BJPMM) is all set to stage massive protest all over the state against increasing incidents of molestation against girls and women in the state. This will be started from Raipur on Feb 20 and BJPMM leaders and workers would stage protest at city’s Budhtalab dharna venue and after this would submit memorandum to Governor Anusiya Uikey. After this, dharna will be staged in each district.
Addressing a press conference former Minister and BJP leader Lata Usendi informed that apart from dharna and protest in Raipur on Feb 20, this type of protest will be held in every district headquarters and then memorandum will be submitted in the name of Governor through district Collectors.
Usendi charged that incidents of rape against women and girls are on the rise in the state and since the state government is not sensitive, there is no check on part of the police and putting accused behind bars. So now the women of the state will not tolerate anything and there are plans to hold Vidhan Sabha gherao from second week of budget session. During this also BJP Mahila Morcha leaders would gherao VS in protest against increasing crimes with members of the fairer sex.
Former Minister Lata Usendi claimed that in last 9 months, total of 104 such cases have come to fore in Balrampur district and out of which 79 are cases with minors. In the same way as per statistics of Bilaspur police, more than 6000 crimes against girls and women took place in 20 Thana areas of the district from 1 Jan to Oct 30. In VS also the state government has accepted that there were 17009 cases of dacoity, loot, murder, molestation and others in the state from 1 Jan 2019 to 31 Jan 2020 and du ring this the number of molestation cases itself were 2575 and in other words there were just 7 incidents of rape per day.
