Bilaspur now linked to Delhi via air services

Raipur, Feb 04: Union Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri today announced to link Bilaspur to Delhi via air services on the request of Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Meanwhile Airport Authority of India Chairman has been instructed to take necessary action for development of cargo hub facility in Raipur after conducting site inspection.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel called on Union Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri at Nirman Bhavan in New Delhi today and sought permission for air-connectivity from Bilaspur to metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata under Regional Connectivity Scheme. On this the Union Minister Mr Puri announced to start Air India flight from Bilaspur to Delhi soon. Mr Baghel’s request for development of cargo hub in Raipur has also been accepted. Taking immediate action on this request, the Union Minister instructed the Airport Authority of India Chairman to inspect the site next week.
Mr Baghel also discussed with the Union Minister about starting the flight services from Ambikapur Airport. He also discussed about start of flight services from Jagdalpur Airport to metropolitan cities. The Union Minister assured of positive initiatives on these demands. During the meeting, Mr Baghel also expressed gratitude for upgrading of Bilaspur Airport to 3C VFR category and giving green signal for starting air-services for three cities.
