Anwar again taken on 5 days conditional remand by ED

Anwar Dhebar, the businessman and brother of Mayor Aijaz Dhebar, in case of the alleged liquor scam of Rs 2000 cr was produced in the Court by ED team. In front of the Judge in the Court, Anwar Dhebar charged ED of harassing him and warned to commit suicide. Anwar said that the ED team is pressurising him to disclose name of CM and his family members in the scam and warned that if this continues then he would commit suicide and ED would be responsible for it.

It is notable here that in PMLA, Anwar Dhebar while trying to escape was nabbed from a private hotel a week back and taken on four days remand. After four days of inquiry, ED produced him in the court with demand for 10 days remand, but got only for 5 days of conditional remand only. ED has charged Anwar Dhebar and his associates of illegal income worth Rs 2000 cr in liquor scam and passing on the funds to political leaders and party and ED has mentioned this in its press release.

After four days of remand to Anwar Dhebar, ED also produced Ajay Singh Rajput in the Court along with Ritesh Purohit. But all of sudden Purohit’s health deteriorated and instructions were given to take him to AIIMS for treatment. It is learnt that Ritesh Purohit is also a hotel owner and have Hawala links.

On the other hand, there were large numbers of supporters of Anwar Dhebar who have reached Court premises on Wednesday morning and in this majority were woman.  Since there was lot of rush in the court, the police stopped all the persons outside the Court itself. It is notable here that Anwar was taken into arrest just five days back and had asked for 15 days remand earlier, but got only for 4 days and again on Wednesday only 5 days conditional remand was granted.
