Let all unitedly strive for the quality of higher education: Governor

Raipur, Oct 24: Governor Ms. Anusuiya Uikey inaugurated the newly constructed building “Vidyanilayam” of Chhattisgarh Private University Regulatory Commission. Higher Education Minister Umesh Patel and Chairman of the Commission, Shivvaran Shukla were present on this occasion. The Governor conveyed his best wishes for the newly constructed building. The Governor said that all the universities should make a united effort to maintain the quality of higher education. It is the responsibility of all of us to get back the status as our country was known in the field of education in ancient times. The Governor said that all private universities should organise their career cells and employment fairs, so that the students here get information about different areas of employment. With this, they can become aware about which career to choose along with studies. She said that all government and private universities should hold a meeting among themselves and share information about good work in the field of higher education. She suggested to form a committee for new grading and a cell of psychologists for counseling the students. The Governor said that all universities should include subjects related to moral education in the curriculum. With this, the students will become cultured along with getting the degree. Ms. Uikey said that we are moving towards a new India. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our country is moving ahead in the path of continuous progress. He had announced the new education policy, now its implementation has also started. In the new education policy, we will adopt innovation along with connecting with our ancient traditions. Our education system will be more flexible and relevant than ever before. New opportunities will increase for the students. They will be able to study in line with scientific and global changes. The Governor urged all the universities to prepare the syllabus according to the new education policy. I would expect the commission to motivate the universities to help them prepare the blueprint for the new education policy soon. Higher Education Minister Umesh Patel said that on the day the students of our state will make a place at the international level, my dream of seeing Chhattisgarh at the highest place will be fulfilled. We should try our best to continuously do good in the field of higher education. Patel said that we should try that the field of education should be seen only as education, it should not be done as a business.
He said that about 2.63 lakh students take admission in government colleges. The number of students around them sit in the examination privately. This indicates the shortage of colleges in the state. He organised PPP in collaboration with private universities in different areas of the state. Suggested to open a model college, a target has been set to bring all the universities and colleges of Chhattisgarh on the platform of NAAC grading by the year 2022.
After that we will try to increase the grading. He said that the department is also making provision of e-library for the students, so that they can come to the college or study the books through their mobile. Commission Chairman, Shivvaran Shukla also addressed the program. On this occasion, the souvenir “Vagisha” of Chhattisgarh Private University Regulatory Commission was released. Simultaneously, the website of the commission was also inaugurated. A memento was also presented to the Governor in the program. Members and officers of the commission, chancellors and vice chancellors of private universities were present on this occasion.
