There are many examples where development programs and approaches have yielded positive results in combating violence. The "Rajasthan Madarsa Board" initiative focuses on the modernization of traditional Islamic schools (madrassas) in the state. By including subjects such as science, mathematics, and English in the curriculum along with religious studies, it provided a more all-round education to the students. As a result, students became less vulnerable to extremist ideologies. The "Sadbhavna" project in Andhra Pradesh aims to promote social integration among diverse communities. It brought people from different religious backgrounds together for community events, sports, and cultural activities. This increased understanding, reduced mistrust, and helped build stronger ties between communities. The "Udaan" program focuses on providing skill development and job training to the youth in the Kashmir Valley. By increasing their employability and providing economic opportunities, it aims to combat feelings of alienation and hopelessness among youth, thereby making them less vulnerable to radicalization.
