Cabinet reduces VAT on petrol by 1%, on diesel by 2%

Taking a major decision in favour of general public, the State Cabinet under chairmanship of CM Bhupesh Baghel decided to reduce VAT by 1% on petrol and by 2% on diesel. This will pose loss to the tune of around Rs 1000 crore on government exchequer. In yet another important decision, the Cabinet decided to continue the classes in private and government schools with 100% capacity keeping in mind Covid-19 protocol. Many important decisions were taken in the state cabinet held here on Monday. Providing relief to Shiksha Karmis (S’karmis), the cabinet relaxed the provision for promotion for teaching cadre. Under this for promotion of head masters of Primary School and for the post of teachers and lecturers, the provision of 5 yrs experience in the department’s recruitment rules has been relaxed to 3 yrs just for once.
With this the S’karmis who availed benefit of merger would be able to get the benefit of their term of service would get promoted ad it will benefit the students with their teaching experience. Taking into account the amendments and new recommendations made by the cabinet sub-committee for MSP on paddy and ‘makka’ and Custom Milling, the cabinet decided to introduce the last year’s Khariff Marketing year 2020-21 paddy, ‘makka’ procurement and custom milling policy for Khariff Marketing Year 2021-22. The cabinet also decided to re-validate the gurantee of Rs 14,700 cr provided for paddy procurement and custom milling for Khariff Marketing year 2020-21 to CG State Co-op Marketing Federation till 31 Oct 2022.
Similarly to save the co-operative samitis from the loss due to paddy procurement for 2020-21 and to make them financially strong, a decision was taken to pay one-time compensation relief amount. It also supported the decision of auction of surplus paddy as per the decision taken by the Cabinet Sub-Committee from the paddy procured for Khariff Marketing year 2020-21.
It also took a decision to cancel the balance paddy quantity for custom milling as per the agreement for Khariff marketing year 2019-20 and to waive off the proposed penalty on it.
