Mirabai meets Sachin Tendulkar

Mumbai, Aug 11: Olympic Silver medallist Mirabai Chanu said she was ‘really inspired’ after meeting Sachin Tendulkar on Wednesday.
‘Loved meeting @sachin_rt Sir this morning! His words of wisdom & motivation shall always stay with me. Really inspired,’ Mirabai tweeted.
Mirabai ended India’s 21 year quest for a weightlifting medal at the Olympics, clinching the 49kg category Silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics on July 24, 2021. The iron lady from Manipur lifted a total of 202kg (87kg + 115kg) to better Karnam Malleswari’s Bronze medal in the 2000 Sydney Olympics. ‘MIRABAI CHANU Absolutely amazing display of weightlifting. The way you have transformed yourself after your injury and clinched a historic silver for #TeamIndia is absolutely stupendous. You have made India very proud,’ Tendulkar tweeted after Mirabai’s Olympian feat.
