Kolhapur to Mumbai trains – Mahalakshmi Express & Koyna Express to run entirely on electricity from April
In Maharashtra, the two trains Mahalakshmi Express and Koyna Express running between Kolhapur and Mumbai will run entirely on electricity from this April. The electrification of the Kolhapur-Miraj-Pune single line has been completed and a goods train is also being run on the line.
Railways Administration has decided to run passenger trains on electricity. The electrification of the Kolhapur – Pune route has also been completed. As the trains will run on electricity, a significant amount of running time will be saved.
