Gross police inaction is evident in Nuh and Manipur, where violent culprits wreaked havoc. Shockingly, in Manipur, the police purportedly surrendered two women to a mob that shamefully paraded them nude. Similarly, in Nuh, law enforcement permitted troublemakers an unchecked role in a procession organized by the VHP. Why weren’t these known troublemakers preemptively detained? Regrettably, the failure to quell communal unrest in Nuh allowed it to spill over into Gurugram. The police’s lackadaisical approach resulted in tragic loss of life and property. Immediate and robust intervention is imperative to prevent further deterioration.
