Met issues alert for heavy snowfall, rain in Uttarakhand
Prevailing cold conditions intensified in Uttarakhand following the rain and snowfall at higher reaches during past 24 hours. Met department has issued alert for heavy snowfall in Kumaun region today. Peaks in Chamoli and Uttarkashi districts of Garhwal region has been covered with snow. Normal life has been affected in remote areas of the state.
Snowfall in Nainital affected road communication this morning. Water and electric supply to the city has been disrupted following heavy snowfall in the district. However, tourists in the lake city are enjoying the snowfall.
