Addressing Disparities

- MK Nair, Raipur

India’s economic growth and ascent to becoming the fifth largest economy are commendable achievements. However, the prosperity has not been evenly shared among all sections of society, leading to disparities in income and wealth distribution.

This uneven impact has left many grappling with poverty and hunger despite the overall economic growth. India’s rankings on various global indices, particularly the happiness index, are a cause for concern. To improve these rankings and achieve inclusive growth, the authorities must prioritize poverty alleviation, social welfare programs, education, healthcare, and sustainable development.

Investing in education and healthcare can empower the marginalized and provide them with better opportunities for economic mobility. Additionally, implementing sustainable development practices can ensure long-term prosperity without compromising the needs of future generations.
