Youth arrested with psychotropic drugs

Bhilai, Aug 12: Police have arrested a youth on charges of illegal possession and trade of psychotropic drugs. Inspector Vishal Sone (SHO, Chhawani) informed that on the instructions of SP Prashant Agrawal and supervision of ASP (City) Sanjay Dhruw and CSP (Chhawani) Vishwas Chandrakar, the team of Chhawani Police Station is making efforts to tighten noose around the people involved in illegal activities of smuggling and peddling of narcotics and psychotropic drugs. Acting on a tip off, police rounded up a youth from the Subhash Square area and on searching, 302 capsules of banned psychotropic drugs were recovered from him. He was involved in illegally selling the drugs to the addicts. The accused is identified as Gurjeet Singh (22) son of Dalbir Singh a resident of Subhash Square, Camp-1, Chhawani. 302 nos of Spas Trancan Plus Dicylomine HCL Tramadol HCL & Acetic Amlopin Capsules worth Rs 1960 were recovered from his possession. He has been booked under the provisions mentioned in sections 22/8 (b) and 27 (a) of NDPS Act.
