In other words, it literally means “you are what you eat.” It is believed that people who follow the sattvic diet have a pure mind with a healthy body. According to the yogic diet, you cannot eat foods that fall under the category: Tamasic (angry) and Rajasic (forceful food).

• One must refrain from foods like tobacco, caffeine and artificial and processed sweeteners
• The yogic diet is all about eating a vegetarian diet, So, eat foods rich in protein like legumes, green leafy vegetables and dairy products as they are easy to digest
• Do not eat anything at least two hours before exercising to allow your body to burn the energy that you might burn for digestion
• Choose one day in the week to fast and try fruit juices and water. You can also eat fruits.
