World Environment Day celebrated

Sipat, Jun 06: World Environment Day celebrated at NTPC-SIPAT. In the morning hour Prabhat Pheri (walkathon) was organized followed by mass sapling plantation by Padmakumar Rajasekharan, CGM-Sipat and all participants. On this occasion Shri Padmakumar administered WED pledge to the employees and family members. On environment conservation a play performed by the Executive Trainees 2018 batch.
Prier to World Environment Day, various competitions were organized to spread awareness about environment protection among employees and the associates. The winners of various competitions were distributed in a function organized at evening hour of environment day, where Chief Guest, Padmakumar Rajasekharan, Chief General Manager, NTPC Sipat inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial lamp and addressed the gathering. Shri Padmakumar said on the different measures taken by NTPC for control of air pollution and conservation of water and soil and preventive measures to tackle pollution. Awards to the winners of world water day, earth day and environment day was distributed by Padmakumar and other dignitaries. Among others Anik Kumar Choudhury, General manager (Operation & maintenance), Kamlesh Soni, GM (Operation) JSS Murty, General Manager (Maintenance) senior officials off Shared Services Centre and Sipat were present.
