Central Chronicle News
Raipur, Mar 10: Governor Anusuiya Uikey, while addressing a discussion on the topic “Role of Women Power in Society” organised by Raipur Press Club on the occasion of International Women’s Day, said that all women should keep their confidence strong. Take the resolution and say to yourself that I will be able to do everything and do some good work that will inspire the society, she added.
The Governor appreciated the women journalists and said that I salute their spirit. The brilliance with which they perform their family and social obligations is commendable. This sector is also sometimes risky for them, but they carry out their responsibility with impunity. Governor Ms. Uikey said that after becoming the Governor of Chhattisgarh, I had the first opportunity to come to this event organized in Raipur Press Club. For this, she thanked the officials of the Press Club. She also bowed down to the late Madhukar Kher, a senior journalist, and said that the Press Club is the place where the enlightened people who bring awareness to society, public issues and positive news to the world brainstorm.
She told the women to maintain their confidence no matter what challenges they face in life. Always be upbeat, you will definitely get success. While discussing the Naxalism problem, the Governor said that it is ironic that a large part of Chhattisgarh is grappling with this complex problem. Soon after assuming the responsibility of the Governor, I met the public representatives and residents of this area and tried to find out the problem. She said why this problem is coming up only in tribal areas. To solve this problem, it is necessary to communicate with the people of that area in confidence. I had requested to take necessary initiative in the Governor’s conference raising this issue.
Recalling the incident of late Late Arjun Singh’s tenure as Governor in Punjab, senior journalist Mr. Ramesh Nayyar said that when I entered the Press Club, I remembered the martyrdom of that time after listening to the tune of the police band. Today, Chhattisgarh is struggling with Naxalism. Nayyar urged the Governor to take necessary initiatives from the Central Government to solve this problem. Senior journalist Ratna Verma, Padma Shri Mrs. Phulbasan Yadav, Vice Chancellor of Khairagarh University, Mrs. Mamta Chandrakar, Additional Collector Mrs. Padmani Bhoi, Mrs. Manjulata Baradia, Mrs. Urmila Devi and Dr. Monica Agarwal were honoured on the occasion.
