Woman confesses to killing infant son
Bhilai, Apr 05: Durg Police arrested a woman after she confessed to killing her infant son. She had tried to spin a false story of abduction and murder of her son. On the basis of CCTV footage, Police questioned her after which she confessed to the crime.
SP Dr Abhishek Pallava informed that on March 31, one Malti Yadav of village Nagpura had lodged a complaint regarding missing / abduction of her 06-month-old child Dipanshu Yadav. She complained that the child was sleeping with her and around 03:00 hrs she noticed that the child was missing. Initially an FIR was lodged under section 363 of IPC and investigation was launched.
A special team was constituted to trace the missing child. The team inspected the crime scene and collected technical inputs. Every possible effort was being made to locate the kidnapped child with the help of CDR and CCTV footage. Meanwhile, on April 01, 2023, the dead body of the kidnapped child was recovered from Dabri pond of the village. Police team minutely examined the footage of the CCTV cameras installed in the village. In the footage, a woman wearing a dark brown colour saree was seen carrying the child around 02:40 hrs in the night. Footage of the suspicious woman was shared with the villagers and was shown to the members of the victim family. The suspect was identified as Malti Yadav, the mother of the child. Her sister-in-law Maya confirmed that Malti was wearing the same saree on the day of Jawara immersion.
Malti Yadav was taken into custody and interrogated. Soon she confessed to her crime. She informed that her husband had left her at her paternal home and was not even giving money for expenses. She was worried for her child and was mentally upset. In a fit of rage, she picked up the child and threw him in the pond with the intention of killing him. After returning back home, she woke up her mother and said that her child is not on the bed and someone has taken him away. Police have seized the saree worn by the accused while committing the crime. Police arrested Malti Yadav (30) wife of Dilip Yadav a resident of village Pulgaon on charges of murder. Further action against the accused is being taken by Nagpura Chowki. ASI Purna Bahadur, Constables Jagjit Singh, Farooq Khan, Shobhit Sinha, Tileshwar Rathore, Khurram Baksh, Jugnu Singh, Keshav Sahu, Narendra Sahare, Chitrasen, Sanat Bharti, Komal, Pradeep Singh, Dhirendra Yadav from ACCU and ASI Channu Netam, Head Constable Yashwant Singh, Constable Amit Verma, Prashant Sahu, Kuldeep Singh and Tameshwar Sahu from Nagpura Chowki played a vital role solving the case.
