Raipur: Gudhiyari police on Sunday night arrested three persons, including the deceased’s wife, in connection to his murder at his house in Gudhiyari.
According to police, deceased K Vishwanth Sarma of Bamleshwari Nagar was an engineer in Merchant Navy and used to come to Raipur only once or twice in a year on long leave.
However, his habit of consuming excessive liquor had been a longstanding problem with his wife and bitter quarrel used to place during each of his visits to Raipur. Couple of days ago also, Sarma had a bitter quarrel with his wife KV Latha following which she decided to eliminate him for once and all.
In order to kill him, Latha took assistance of her tenant at Pandri’s house Luvkush Shukla who further roped in his employee Avnish Yadav to kill Sarma. Acting on the plan drawn up by Latha, Luvkush and Avnish entered into the house from a door which was left open for them by Latha after which they repeatedly attacked Sarma on his head with a blunt wooden piece and left from the same door.
Sarma was found lying in a pool of blood by his daughter who woke early on Saturday morning to proceed for her coaching classes. She immediately called her mother and brother and informed them about his condition after which he was rushed to DKS Hospital where he succumbed few hours later.
The following postmortem revealed that his death was a homicidal attack. Coming to know about it, Gudhiyari police registered an offence under Section 302 IPC against unidentified assailants and launched an investigation into the incident.
Circumstantial evidences led police to Latha who initially denied knowing anything about the attack on her husband but ultimately confessed of taking assistance of her tenant in killing him. Following her confession, police picked up Luvkush and his employee Avnish from Pandri and now all three of them are being interrogated further.
