Dongargarh, Jun 04: With schedule for arrival of Governor Anandiben Patel, the hospital management is getting white-waching done on war footing and if the same amount of work would have been done something favouring the patients then it would have been much more beneficial to daily patients.
Prior to this when any such demand of cleanliness or renovation work in the Hospital was made, the management used to say that the hospital building is on verge of collapse, but with news about arrival of Governor, the management has taken decision to get is cleaned and white-wash it as well and hiding the real picture of this hospital in pathetic state. Few days back the CMO, ADM and SDM along with team of senior officers have paid a visit over proposed visit of Governor in the hospital and inspecting the hospital gave necessary instructions to the hospital management.
It is in this context that the hospital management is getting the hospital renovated with paiting and white-washing.
Paediatrician given charge of BMO
With massive shortage of staff, the sole Paediatrician BP Ekka has been given the charge of BMO and he has been kept away from services to general public,as due to more work to BMO, it is not possible for patients to sit for long hours in his cabin.
It is for this reason that the parents of kids as the patients are seen wandering in the hospital.
Many posts of specialist lying vacant
The villagers from around 125 villages coming under total 100 Panchayats coming under this block headquarters, the government is running this community health centre (CHC) in Dongargarh for treatment to general public.
With such a large population, there is dearth of subject experts in the hospital for last many years. Among the sanctioned posts of doctors- the post of MD Medicine, Surgeon, Eye specialist, Orthopaedics, gyneacology; dresser and other posts, as to by whom the patients are being treated is not known. Except for one or two senior doctors, rest are all newly appointed doctors. In such conditions, the patients have to think twice to get their patient admitted in CHC and despite all such lacunae the hospital management is just running the show.
No facility of sonography or ECG
Majority of patients visiting CHC often requires sonography and ECG facility, but so far the hospital management, nor the public representatives have taken any decision in this regard. Though ECG machine has been provided by hospital management, but due to lack of qualified technical staff, the hospital administration is unable to get is operated and if the hospital management wants, they can train one of the employees of CHC and provide honorarium to him.
Janoushadhi Kendra functional only for 6 hrs
In line with Rajnandgaon district hospital, the working of ‘Jan-Aushadhi Kendra’ in CHC, Dongargarh instead of for 24 hours is just for 6 hours in a day. As per timings of CHC, the medicines are distributed from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm only and in rest of the time the hopsital patients have to collect medicines from outside medical store. With majority of medical stores not having night facility, the patients face lots of problems for emergency medicines.
Need for one subject experts once a week
Maa Bamleshwari Trust Samiti running Dongargarh temple provides services of one expert doctor once in a week and if the District administration wants, then in CHC Dongargarh also duty of one expert doctor can be deployed in the hospital once in a week.
Change in system due to regular visit of Collector
The newly posted Collected Jai Prakash Mourya has been conducting surprise raids and inspection of District Hospital, CHCs and others and taking stock of shortcomings keeps on giving necessary instruction to remove the same and provide better medical and health facilities to patients.
