Villagers annoyed over damage to idols in temple

Some anti-social elements in a village near the district headquarters had broken the idols in the temple. In another incident it was during the night hours these anti-socials caused damage to the idols in the temple and threw them outside. A complaint in this regard has been lodged with City Kotwali as the village Sheetaldah comes under it and the other incident is that of Gram Satganga Thana of village Boda. In the incidents the police lodged a complaint and is in search of the accused. Last night in Sheetaldah village, idols of ‘Thakur Devji’ and the idol of Lord Shri Hanuman were broken by some anti-social elements on the night of April 28 and threw it outside the temple. Similarly the idols in a temple in Gram Boda were also thrown out. With such repeated incident, it is hurting the religious sentiments of people of the village and the people are lodging complaint with police after every incident. But so far no firm action has been taken against them by the police and on which the people are annoyed.
Local and social worker Aakash Parihar informed that such incidents have taken place earlier in Gram Madanpur, Pandotara and Jhaliyapur and now it has taken place in Boda and Sheetaldah. With such repeated incidents, the people’s religious sentiments are hurt and demands strict action against the same. On this issue of damage to idols in the temple, we had spoken to SP Mungeli CD Tandon and he informed that as per investigations into earlier incident, a hand of some mentally retarded person has come to fore and the search of this accused is in progress and he would not be spare. On the other hand SP Mungeli informed that case under section 259 of IPC has been lodged and action has been taken. Inspector Setganga Ashish Arora informed that suspects are under scrutiny and soon they will be put behind bars.
