Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 inaugurated at BSP

Bhilai, Oct 26:
SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant is observing the week-long Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 from October 26 to November 01, 2021, which was inaugurated by Rakesh, Executive Director (Materials Management), Bhilai Steel Plant as the Chief Guest of the function at the HRDD Conference Hall on Tuesday. SPS Jaggi, Ex ED (P&A) SAIL and Ex Director (P&A), Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) graced the occasion as Key Note Speaker.
Present on the occasion were AK Bhatta, ED (Projects), SK Dubey, ED(P&A), Anjani Kumar, ED(Works), Dr AK Panda, CGM I/c (F&A) , Chief General Managers In-charge, Chief General Managers and other Senior officials of Bhilai Steel Plant.
Theme of Vigilance Awareness Week -2021 is Independent India @ 75: Self Reliance with Integrity”, which is chosen by Central Vigilance Commission the apex anti- corruption body in the country as a part of celebration of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav”.
The programme started with garlanding of the portrait of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel by Executive Director (MM) and lighting the lamp by all dignitaries. The Welcome address was delivered by AC Rathi, CGM (Vigilance) and ACVO. This was followed by the Integrity Pledge which was administered by Rakesh, Executive Director, Materials Management, Bhilai Steel Plant to all guests and invitees present in the function.
Rakesh, Executive Director (MM) in his address illustrated the ill effects of corruption for the society as well as for the organisation. He also elaborated the contribution of SAIL-BSP in self-reliance of India. During the address, Rakesh stressed that for an Organisation it is essential to make a policy, which may lead to achieve self-reliance of India through Integrity. He applauded the efforts of Vigilance Department for their Preventive Vigilance practices, various anti-corruption measures and for promoting the culture of Integrity, Transparency and Accountability in Bhilai Steel Plant.
SPS Jaggi, Ex Director (P&A), SCI, who was the Key Note Speaker on the occasion enlightened the gathering with his inspirational speech. In his speech, Jaggi elaborated the seven lessons for Self Reliance. He stressed that for self-reliance, it is necessary to be resilient in every situation of professional as well personal life.
The messages issued by the Hon’ble President of India, Hon’ble Vice President of India, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and the Central Vigilance Commission on the occasion of Vigilance Awareness Week 2021 were read out by AK Singh, GM (Vigilance), Himanshu Dave, AGM (Vigilance), Rakhi Tiwari, AGM (Vigilance) and SK Biswal, Manager (Vigilance) respectively.
Muskan Shekhar, Student of Class 12th and Ananya Shrivastava, Student of Class 10th both from SSS Sector-10 delivered their thoughts on the theme of VAW-2021.
The Inaugural Programme was compered by KS Sharma, Manager (Vigilance) and the programme ended with the Vote of thanks which was delivered by Satyabrat Kar, GM (Vigilance).
