Vaccination teams to visit every shop in markets

Bhilai, Dec 08: Durg Municipal Corporation Commissioner Haresh Mandavi chaired a meeting regarding Covid-19 control and gave necessary instructions to the concerned officers to accelerate the vaccination programme. The commissioner said that all the shop owners and their workers should be vaccinated. He instructed the health department to constitute teams for visiting every shop in the market areas.
The more people get the vaccine, lesser will be the cases of corona. He further instructed to ensure that the shopkeepers and their staff shall work in the shops only after getting both the doses of Covid vaccine. This will not only protect the shopkeepers from getting infected but will also prevent the spread of covid infection from markets. The employees of the market department were directed to cooperate with the health department team so that the customers who visit the shop are not at risk of Covid.
Commissioner Haresh Mandavi said about 90% of the population has been vaccinated in Durg Corporation area. The remaining people who have not received the first and second dose are also being searched. Eight to ten vaccination centres are functional daily in the Durg Corporation area. Action plan is being chalked out for door to door vaccination. This work will go on continuously and its aim is to vaccinate 100 percent people and prevent Covid 19. Commissioner appealed to all the shopkeepers to cooperate in this work. Assistant Engineer RK Jain, Jitendra Samaiah, Prakashchand Thawani, CPM Sanjeev Dubey and PIU Shekhar Verma were present in the meeting.
