Raipur, May 20: People in Raipur will soon be able to get much needed breeze of cleaner air with creation of oxyzone on approximately 18-acres of land at the heart of the city. Amid much hustle-bustle of the city is oxyzone going to be an oasis of serene, relaxing and natural environment. Air gym, children’s park and jogging track surrounded by trees would be major attractions of upcoming oxyzone. About five thousand oxygen producing saplings of different species being planted at the oxyzone site will play a significant role in controlling pollution.
Visitors will have a jungle-like experience and proximity to nature. Fruit and shady trees, Harra (Terminalia chebula) leafless tree, Terminalia bellirica, known as bahera, amla and other tree species that are found in jungles, are being planted at the site of oxyzone. Water body, pagoda and sitting spaces will have natural look in complete wireless campus of oxyzone. The oxyzone will have three entry gates with provision of parking just near Pandri Road, Canal Linking Road and Collectorate and three small entrances for pedestrians. Arrangement of linear parking is being made at 12mm cement concrete road which has been constructed at the stretch between Collectorate Chowk and Khalsa School.
Lok Sabha MP Ramesh Bais during review of oxyzone development works at district collectorate here instructed concerned construction agency to speed up all works for development of oxyzone.
The meeting was attended by forest development corporation managing director Rajesh Goverdhan, collector OP Choudhary, municipal commissioner Rajat Bansal and other departmental officers.
