Unidentified burglar breaks into jewellery shop near Mandi Gate

Raipur, Dec 18: In a sensational burglary reported in Devendra Nagar police station, an unidentified burglar reportedly broke into a jewellery shop situated near Mandi Gate and decamped with ornaments worth Rs 25 lakh.According to police, complainant is owner of Krishna Jewellers situated near Mandi Gate. On Friday night he reportedly checked his entire stock and kept them safely in various display counters as had been his regular practice.However on Saturday when he arrived to open it for the day, he was stunned to find the shutter locks have been broken and further behind it the glass door was smashed completely. All these incidents were clearly captured in CCTV cameras where the burglar who seemed to be no hurry in stealing the ornaments before escaping with absolute ease before fleeing.
Police meanwhile have registered an offence under Section 457, 380 IPC against the lone burglar and is now investigating the matter further.
