
Bhilai, Sep 20: Police have arrested two ruffians involved in Mahadev online betting from Nehru Nagar and Khursipar. With their arrest, online betting money transactions worth crores of rupees have been traced. Transaction of betting money was being done from the accounts of various banks. 02 nos mobiles were recovered from the accused. Other members of the gang are based in Pune, Visakhapatnam, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Dubai (UAE). This gang has also organised rave parties in foreign countries with illegal money earned from online betting.
Superintendent of Police (Durg) Dr Abhishek Pallava informed that acting on a tip off, a joint team of Anti-Crime Cyber Unit and Police Station Supela and Chowki Smriti Nagar rounded up Saurabh Jaiswal, a resident of Nehru Nagar and Krishna Jaiswal, a resident of Khursipar area, for their alleged involvement in operating Mahadev online betting.
In the initial interrogation, the suspects kept misleading the police, but during sustained interrogation on the basis of technical inputs, the suspects confessed their involvement in the online betting racket. They disclosed that the online betting is operated through a mobile app from an international location in Dubai (UAE). This gang has set up its branches in Pune, Visakhapatnam, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mumbai in India. Through these branches, IDs are provided to the people who are interested in online betting. The branches conduct the transactions by opening bank accounts in different states of the country. Through these bank accounts, illegal transactions of crores of rupees are being done. In order to expand the Mahadev app, people associated with the app are invited to the rave parties which are organised abroad. Durg Police are collecting information in this regard. A list of suspects involved in online betting and those who visited abroad for joining this illegal activity as well as the people associated with the app is being prepared. Legal action is being taken against the arrested persons by Supela Police Station. The accused are Saurabh Jaiswal (31) son of Jagbandhu Jaiswal a resident of Nehru Nagar, and Krishna Jaiswal (29) son of Vinod Jaiswal a resident of Khursipar.
