Two nabbed in an online fraud of Rs 63.33 lakhs

Raipur, Sep 21: Two inter-state thugs involved in an online fraud taking OTP number were nabbed from Dhanbad (Jharkhand) in Rs 63.33 lakh case of an employee from CSEB.
According to the police, the complainant Ashok Kumar Sahu, R/o Abhanpur Thana Abhanpur has lodged a complaint that he got retired as survey observer from CSEB last on 31/03/2021 and he is having an account in SBI Abhanpur branch.
The complainant was having his post-retirement benefits and amount deposited in his bank account in SBI Abhanpur. Some unknown persons, claiming themselves to be SBI employees, in the name of checking the amount deposited in his bank account asked the OTP number from him. After this from 17/06/2021 to 01/08/2021 they withdrew a total of Rs 63.33 lakh amount from his account through any transactions and about which surprisingly the account did not come to know.
It was based upon the complaint, a case under section 420, 120 B and 34 of IPC wide complaint No.302/21 was filed and matter was taken for investigation. Based upon the inquiry and phone call details the cyber cell of the police manage to locate the location of the accused and nabbed the two from their residence in Dhanbad.
