Kotwali Police while investigating the muder case of a youth which took place three days back, was taken aback when on Wednesday night accused killed one branded criminal and his friend was also attacked while injuring him seriously. After performing the act four out of the seven accused surrendered themselves by reaching Basantpur police station.
The accused killed Goldy Markam with extreme cruelty as like they did in case of Parvez Khan two days back on Sunday. Basantpur resident Goldy Markam was a branded criminal in the list of police and on Wednesday late night he with his friend Pratik was consuming alcohol at Rajiv Nagar wholesale fruit market premises. Meanwhile seven accused who arrived there with a motive to kill the accused entered in to verbal dual with the deceased and his friend. They started beating the deceased and even set fire on his car so that he cannot escape from the scene. The accused started attacking Goldy on the face and stomach with knife and other sharp weapons. Goldy’s friend Pratik who tried to interfere was also attacked by the accused.
While Goldy died on the spot, accused also hit on his head with sharp weapons. Pratik also got seriouly injured.
After the incident entire area was in a shock and police suspected gang war due to two killings within three days. The police cordoned off the area around Rajiv Nagar Sheetla Mandir Chowk and police force was posted in the area. The pace of killings which started from January with two murders seems to be the result of rivalry between criminals of the area as all those killed carried criminal record with them.
The police are successful in nabbing the culprits but it is a matter of concern that behind all the killings are youths who do not have any fear of police and law.
