Two arrested for stealing jewellery from friend’s house

Supela Police solves theft case within few hours

Bhilai, Sep 12: Police have arrested two ruffians on charges of theft. The accused had burgled jewellery worth Rs 5.10 lakhs from the place of their friend. After receiving a complaint regarding theft, a team of Supela Police Station managed to trap the accused within a few hours. The stolen booty was also recovered from them.

While addressing media persons here at Supela Police Station on Monday, ASP (City) Sanjay Dhruv informed that on September 11, Supela Police Station received a complaint regarding theft of gold and silver jewellery worth lakhs from a house in Dixit Colony, Kosanagar Supela. The victim had kept the gold and silver jewellery of the marriage in his house. The victim’s wife had gone to her maternal home to celebrate Teeja. On returning back, she found that the gold and silver jewellery was stolen.

On the instructions of Superintendent of Police (Durg) Dr Abhishek Pallava and under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Sanjay Dhruv and City Superintendent of Police (Bhilai Nagar) Nassar Siddiqui, the team of Supela Police Station led by Inspector Durgesh Sharma launched investigations and arrested the thieves with the stolen booty.

During investigation, Police collected information about the people who visited the house in absence of the victim’s wife. The servants and friends of the victim were quizzed. The investigation team also checked the footage of the nearby CCTV cameras. During investigation, Police found that the activities of two friends of the victim were suspicious. On suspicion, the police interrogated the suspects Sachin Phule and Swaling Phule alias Charu. During initial interrogation, they denied but could not last long in front of the cops. They were strictly interrogated as police had all reasonable grounds. Later, police recovered the stolen gold and silver ornaments from them. With its sustained efforts, Supela Police managed to solve the case within a few hours. The accused Sachin Phule and Swaling Phule alias Charu, both residents of Kosa Nagar Supela were produced before the court and have been sent to jail on judicial remand. The stolen booty worth Rs 5,10,000 was recovered from them.

Inspector Durgesh Kumar Sharma (SHO, Supela), ASI Rajesh Singh, Rajnikant Diwan, Head Constable Santosh Sharma, Constable Ravi Sao and Surendra Patel played a vital role in solving the case.
