
Raipur: DD Nagar police on Friday succeeded in arresting both the accused of a murder that took place in Sarona region on Tuesday night last. Surprisingly, both the arrested accused were close friends of the deceased but stabbed him over a trivial dispute while consuming liquor at the spot.
According to police, deceased Raju Gupta of Tatyapara was found stabbed to death behind a school building on the night of August 13 last. Registering an offence under Section 302 IPC against unidentified assailants, DD Nagar police launched an investigation into the murder which had no clue at all in the initial stage.
Taking help from its technical surveillance team and from the close scrutiny of available CCTV footages, police found out that Raju Gupta was moving in the region with his two friends named Rahul Ahuja (20) and Umesh Maraskole (22), both residents of Raipura. Following this revelation, police picked both the suspects for further interrogation.
As anticipated, both of them straightway refused any involvement in the crime. However, they could not withstand for long police’s meticulous interrogation and finally confessed of stabbing Raju Gupta over a trivial dispute that suddenly erupted at the spot where all three of them were consuming liquor then. Police have since seized the knife and the Honda Activa bike that were used in the crime. Both the accused will now be produced in the court on Saturday.
