Two accused arrested for Poppy smuggling

Jagdalpur, Apr 04: Bodghat police have arrested two accused on charges of looking for customers to sell poppy. Based on the inputs received by the police that two youths are moving with some doubtful items and are in search of customers, SP Deepak Jha constituted a team led by Bodhghat TI Dhanjay Sinha. The team started their search as per the description of youths given by the informer two doubtful youths were arrested near Boghat square. When searched, 230 gm poppy was recovered from their possession of market value Rs 46,000. They revealed their identity as Manish Chandak, resident of Rajasthan and Sujit alias Bholu Vishwakarma, resident of industrial area. Accused Manish confirmed of living in a rented accommodation and engaged in this illegal trade for one-and-half years. The police have registered case under section 18 of NDPS act and sent both the accused to jail on judicial remand.
