Truck driver’s blind murder mystery solved within 24 hours

Bhilai, Sep 06: With the arrest of six ruffians including two juveniles, police claimed to have solved the blind murder mystery of a truck driver within 24 hours of the crime. The accused are basically looters and hail from Raipur. They used to target the people during nights.
While addressing media persons here at Police Control Room on Monday, ASP (City) Sanjay Dhruw informed that in the wee hours of Sunday, some unidentified ruffians had stabbed a truck driver near Puraina Square in Old Bhilai. The victim truck driver Ajay Pandey had contacted his owner soon after the incident on mobile phone and informed him that he has been attacked by some ruffians. Later, Ajay Pandey succumbed to his injuries during treatment after which an FIR was lodged. Investigations were launched under the supervision of top cops. CCTV camera footages were examined and police teams were sent to different directions.
During interrogation, it was discovered that similar incident occurred with Bunty Banjare and Pinkesh Sipha of village Auri. Some unidentified ruffians and abused them and looted mobile phone from them. Earlier on August 29, similar incident occurred with Chitresh Sinha and Tikeshwar Sahu at Bhatagaon Square. On the basis of information provided by the victims, police tracked some suspects who hail from Gudhiyari area of Raipur. Police team was sent to Raipur and the suspects were taken in custody.
During interrogation, the confessed to have stabbed the truck driver at Puraina Square and looted mobile phone from some other youth at a nearby village. The accused are identified as Shubham Patel (18) son of Pannalal Patel a resident of Krishna Nagar, Gudhiyari; Purnendra Sahu (18) son of Khemchand Sahu a resident of Pahadi Square, Gudhiyari; Tarun Yadav (18) son of Lakhan Yadav a resident of Pahadi Square, Gudhiyari; Pawan Yadav (18) son of Raju Yadav a resident of Pahadi Square, Gudhiyari and two juveniles. Further interrogation is on and cops are exploring the involvement of the accused in other crimes.
Inspector Vinay Singh Baghel, SI Prakash Shukla, ASI Rajesh Pandey, Constables Rakesh Singh, Sandeep Singh, Vijay Singh, Krishna Singh, Arvind Medhe, Harish Rao, Cyber Cell I/c Inspector Gaurav Tiwari, ASI Shamit Mishra, Head Constable Chandra Shekhar Banjir, Constable Vikrant Yadav, Dinesh Verma, ASI Purna Bahadur, Constable Jugnu Singh, Upendra Yadav, Shamim, Pannelal and Santosh played vital role in solving the case.
