In news for statement on ‘internet at the time of Mahabharat’, the Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Deb has now made news again but this time he questioned why Diana Hayden should have been selected for beauty crown.
The Chief Minister said that while Aishwarya Rai carries the dignity of an Indian woman, the fact that Diana Hayden was crowned clearly shows hand of fashion mafias.
The 47-year-old CM also launched a blistering attack on the fashion industry and jeered at women who are foxed by marketing and advertisements.
He was speaking at a programme in Agartala.
The Chief Minister went on to say that Diana Hayden does not fit to that class of beauty.
However, he added that he does not oppose her.
He also commented how Indians don’t win International pageants now even though it was Haryana’s Manushi Chillar who bagged the title only last year.
He insisted that Indian products need to brand themselves all the more
