A training seminar cum workshop was organized in Krishi Mahavidyalaya of Kumhravand in Jagdalpur on the occasion of Rashtriya Panchayat Raj day.
The seminar was attended by Panchayat members from district and Janpad as well as Panchs and Sarpanchs of Gram Panchayats.
These panchayat representatives also attended the live telecast of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
School Education Minister Kedar Kashyap, in his address, on the occasion elaborated on the significance of the Panchayati Raj system.
He said that the three tier Panchayat system would further make panchayats effective and would also contribute in the making them self-reliant in terms of income sources.
He termed it of utmost importance that Gram Panchayats are developed for the larger national interest.
Minister said that it is the responsibility of the Gram Panchayats to not only make toilets but also to inspire the rurals to use it regularly.
He said that it needs to be ensured that villages have enough roads, education, health facilities and employment and electricity availability.
Member of Parliament Dinesh Kashyap in his address said that the panchayat representatives need to ensure that they contribute towards development in their own areas so that it may get remembered for years to come.
