Traffic Police makes efforts for safety of pedestrian pilgrims

Bhilai, Sep 28: On the instructions of the top brass of Durg Police, the Traffic Police are making efforts to ensure safety of the pedestrian pilgrims approaching Dongargarh during Navaratri. Under the leadership of ASP (Traffic) and DSP (Traffic), the team of Traffic Police is pasting radium stickers / reflectors on the backpacks / clothes of the pedestrians so that they are visible to the drivers / riders even during night. This initiative will ensure safety of pedestrians by averting road accidents due to reduced visibility at night.

Police have appealed to pedestrians to wear radium stickers on their backs or bags and avoid dark colored clothes. They are urged to walk on the extreme left part of the road; avoid journey in late night hours; take the padyatra route prescribed by the administration; avoid resting on the road and staying alert while walking.

The drivers of the vehicles moving towards Dongargarh have been appealed to avoid travelling late at night; avoid driving in condition of insomnia; avoid over seating in vehicles; do not drive under the influence of alcohol and any kind of intoxicant; do not park the vehicle on the road; use low beam in headlights; and stay alert while driving.
