TMT laden stolen truck recovered within 10 hours

Bhilai, Aug 29: Durg Police succeeded in recovering the stolen truck with consignment of TMT bars within 10 hours of the crime. Two accused have also been arrested. The accused used to target the parked vehicles in lonely areas. Police have recovered the stolen vehicle along with consignment worth Rs 1 crore.
While addressing media persons at Police Control Room on Sunday, ASP Sanjay Dhruw informed that they had received complaint regarding theft of a truck trailer loaded with 27 tons of TMT bars from Transport Nagar on August 27. The driver had parked the vehicle on the outside and had gone home to spend the night.
When he returned next morning, he found that the vehicle was missing. He immediately informed the truck owner Amit Singh after which a complaint was lodged at Khursipar Police Station. Taking the matter into serious cognizance, SP Prashant Agrawal directed the team of Khursipar Police Station to conduct investigation and recover the stolen vehicle.
Under the guidance of CSP Vishwas Chandrakar, the team of Khursipar Police Station examined the CCTV footage of about 50 cameras and discovered that the stolen truck was being taken towards Pulgaon Square and thereafter it proceeded towards Anda and Nikumbh area.
The team of Khursipar Police Station started chasing the vehicle and reached Nikumbh where they found the vehicle stuck on the outside after an accident. They found that the suspects were trying to pull out the vehicle using an earthmover.
The suspects Vicky Verma and Yash Chaure were taken in custody and during interrogation they confessed to have stolen the truck. The accused were involved in theft cases earlier also. The accused Vicky Verma further disclosed that he had finalized the deal of selling the stolen TMT bars at the rate of Rs 42000 per tonne to the accused Yash Chaure.
Police have booked the accused Vicky Kumar Verma (27) son of Late Rajesh Kumar Verma a resident of Khursipar and Yash Chaure (31) son of Vinay Kumar Chaure a resident of Amlideeh Raipur under the provisions mentioned in section 379, 120 (b) of IPC.
Police have seized the stolen truck bearing registration number CG07-C-4131; 27 tons of TMT bars; one earthmover and Enfield Bullet motorcycle total worth Rs 1 crore from the possession of the accused.
Inspector Durgesh Sharma; Sub Inspector Shishu Pal Chandravanshi; Sub Inspector Satish Sahu; Constable Rakesh Chaudhari; Constable D Prakash; Constable Satyendra Madhariya; Constable Rinku Soni; and Constable Arvind Mishra played vital role in solving the case.
