Three IPL cricket satta bookies arrested

Cash Rs 33500 seized apart from betting records worth over Rs 10 lakh

Azad Chowk police, in association of Raipur police cyber cell, on Saturday night raided a house near Lakhe Nagar Chowk and busted an IPL cricket satta operating from there. Apart from arresting all three bookies, police also seized from them cash Rs 33500 and betting records worth over Rs 10 lakh.
According to police, Azad Chowk police station on Saturday night received a tip off from Raipur police cyber cell that a large scale IPL cricket satta racket in operating from a house near Lakhe Nagar Chowk being the showroom of Subh Kadam. Following this input, a police team immediately raided the said house and nabbed all three bookies red-handed accepting bets over cell phones and simultaneously recording them on a laptop computer and a pen drive.
Further search of the house led to recovery of a register containing betting records worth over Rs 10 lakh since the commencement of IPL 2020. Police immediately seized the register along with the laptop computer, pen drive and the three cell phones that were being used in accepting bets.
All three bookies were then taken into custody and brought to the police station where they were identified as Rahul Khatri, Kushal Jain and Rakesh Meghani. All three of them were then booked under Section 4A of Gambling Act and were also booked separately under Section 151 CrPC.
