Three including a juvenile held for thefts

Bhilai, May 16: Police have arrested three ruffians including a juvenile on charges of thefts. The accused targeted the locked houses for committing thefts. Six nos LPG cylinders, one LED TV and gold-silver jewellery total worth Rs 1.5 lakh were recovered from their possession. Inspector Brijesh Kushwaha (SHO, Mohan Nagar) informed that considering the rising cases of thefts and burglaries during lockdown, SP Prashant Thakur had directed to trace the accused and put them behind the bars.
Under the supervision of ASP (City) Sanjay Kumar Dhruw and CSP (Durg) Vivek Shukla, the team of Mohan Nagar Police Station was constantly keeping watch on the activities of suspects and criminal record holders. The network of informers was also activated for the purpose.
In this sequel, Police received a tip off regarding some suspects who were trying to sell stolen items in the Urla area. Police team swung into action and the suspects were taken into custody. During interrogation, they confessed to have committed thefts at several locked houses. They were committing petty thefts for a long time. The accused were identified as Chandu Lahre alias Kalu (18) son of Bhagirathi Lehre a resident of Wambay Awas Colony, Urla; Sachin Yadav (25) son of Late Ratan Yadav a resident of Wambay Awas Colony, Urla and a juvenile.
Police recovered six nos domestic LPG Cylinders; one nos LED Smart TV and gold and silver jewelleries from their possession. The accused have been booked under the provisions mentioned in sections 41 (1+4) of CrPC and Section 379 of IPC. They were produced before the court and have been sent to jail on judicial remand.
ASI Vinod Singh, Kirendra Singh, Bhikham Sahu, Head Constable Ramesh Sharma, Constable Alauddin Sheikh, Narendra Sahare, Om Prakash Deshmukh and Shakeel Khan played vital roles in arresting the accused.
