Three held for youth’s murder in road rage incident

Bhilai, Feb 22: Police have arrested three ruffians including a juvenile on charges of murder in a road rage incident. The incidence occurred near village Jheet of Amleshwar Police Station limits.
ASP (Rural) Praggya Meshram informed that the deceased was Manoj Sarwe (25) son of Prahlad Sarwe a resident of village Jheet. On February 20, he was returning back to home from Amleshwar on a bike.
On the way, a juvenile moving rashly on a bike with one Saurabh Sarwe and another youth crossed Manoj’s bike. On this, Manoj shouted and asked the youth to ride properly. The trio entered into argument with Manoj and threatened him.
Later in the village, at around 22:40 hrs, one Prakash Thakur approached Manoj, who was attending Ramayan Katha in the village. He took Manoj to a nearby lonely place and started arguing with him. in the meanwhile, the juvenile reached there with his friend and attacked Manoj with a knife.
Fatally injured Manoj was taken to Jheet Hospital and thereafter he was shifted to Medical College Hospital Raipur where he died during treatment. On information, police team reached the spot and the accused were taken in custody. During interrogation, they confessed to have committed the crime.
The accused identified as Prakash Thakur alias Dev Prakash (19) son of Vasu Thakur a resident of village Jheet; Saurabh Sarwe (18) son of Ramesh Prasad a resident of village Jheet and a juvenile have been booked under the provisions mentioned in section 302 of IPC and Section 25, 27 of Arms Act.
