Third wave fear: Bhilai Commissioner visits Shastri Hospital

Bhilai, Oct 17: In view of the possibility of a third wave of Corona, Bhilai Municipal Commissioner Prakash Surve made a surprise inspection of Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital in Supela. He inquired about infant vaccination, OPD, medical staff, pathologist. He visited each ward, and took stock of the number of patients, number of beds, admission capacity etc. He had a detailed discussion with Dr PM Singh, in-charge of the hospital, about the preparations for prevention of Covid-19 and the preparedness in view of the possibility of a third wave coming.
He asked to make extensive arrangements for rapid antigen test, truenat and RTPCR kit. He talked about paying special attention to the quality of the food given to the patients. It is noteworthy that due to the constant monitoring and instructions of Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, facilities have been improved a lot at Supela Shastri Hospital. Awareness about Covid is being disseminated through painting the wall outside the hospital. The corporation has improved the parking system, as well as other arrangements have also been made in the hospital for illumination at night, including the arrangement of high mask lights.
A 500 LPM capacity oxygen plant will prove to be a lifeline for corona patients that has been installed at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital Supela. To deal with the third wave, the hospital management has made elaborate arrangements for oxygen on the instructions of the Collector. Earlier, arrangement for oxygen for patients was done by buying oxygen cylinders, but now the hospital’s own oxygen plant has been prepared, which will give relief to the patients.
It is known that during the Corona period, in most of the cases patients suffered shortness of breath and low oxygen level and due to all these reasons, the system of oxygen is being maintained properly, so that emergency situations can be overcome.
