
Bhilai, Oct 15: Police have arrested a person on charges of bike lifting. The accused had desire of owing expensive bikes. To fulfil this wish, he resorted to bike lifting. He further learnt to start the bike without keys on YouTube. ASP (City) Rohit Jha informed that considering the rising cases of thefts and burglaries, police was maintaining vigil on the activities of suspects and criminal record holders. The network of informers was activated for the purpose. In this sequel, police received a tip off regarding a suspect who possessed a bike and was trying to sell it in Umda Road Housing Board. Police patrolling team immediately reached the spot and the suspect was taken in custody.
During interrogation, the suspect confessed to have stolen bikes from four different places. He further disclosed to have learnt starting the bikes without keys from a video on YouTube. The accused then started stealing the bikes. After using them, he was trying to sell them. The accused was identified as Ved Prakash Shukla alias Mulayam Singh (19) son of Satyendra Shukla a resident of LIG 167, Umda Housing Board, Old Bhilai. A Bajaj Pulsar; Avenger and two nos Hero HF Deluxe bikes total worth Rs 255000 were recovered from his possession. Inspector Vinay Singh, Sub Inspector Ajay Singh, Head Constable D Suman, Constables Arvind Mishra, Dharamraj Singh, Satyendra Madhariya, Rinku Soni, Rakesh Singh, Sandeep Singh, Prakash Sahu and Rakesh Kkumar Rai played vital role in arresting the accused.
