
Bhilai, Sep 25: After conducting a series of visits at the district hospital for over two days, the Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure had instructed to make proper arrangements for the patients in the waiting. Subsequently, the queue management system has been improved and three additional counters have been started. A separate counter has been started for the elderly, critical and wheelchair bound citizens. The security system has been further improved to maintain social distancing. The result has been encouraging. Initially testing took three to four hours but now testing is taking one to one and a half hours. Similarly, tests for elderly and serious patients are being conducted in 15 minutes. Separate arrangements have been made for their convenience and announcement system has been adopted for giving information. In case of result coming positive, based on the symptoms, decision is taken regarding home isolation or hospitalization and medical kit is also provided. The home isolation control team calls the patient three times a day to get information. In case of any emergency, he is referred to the Higher Center.
For patients with serious symptoms, five mobile teams have also been formed who reach the primary contact of the patient. These mobile teams are reaching at the hot spots. Every day the mobile testing team is doing around 250 tests. Also, the mobile team assists the PHC where people are reaching in large number for testing.
The elderly citizens who are testing antigen negative but have symptoms are also being made to undergo RT-PCR test so that the situation is clear and early treatment could be started if needed. Anganwadi workers are also specially reaching people in the age group of fifty and serious patients. So far, more than fifty thousand people have been surveyed.
Also, 40 Fever Clinics have been established in the district where sampling and sanitization arrangements have been made. Social distancing norms are strictly being followed here. The Fever Clinic is being sanitized every day. For increasing the speed of COVID testing, 15 lab technicians have been appointed.
